They have always gone together. This time they go to different centuries, alone.
Cuchu Ramirez and Matias Kim now train more students in a week than they knew existed eight months ago, and the work has grown past two people. Two more are brought in to learn it. Neither of them will travel. They will hold the connection from a Seattle apartment.
At Teotihuacán in 150 CE, Cuchu is handed a water council of three arguing districts and asked to ask her questions. At Hopewell in 250 CE, Matias draws a continent on the ground in stones and is told no by the one man who taught him everything he knows about it.
While they are gone, the Patrimony Foundation 2.0 takes a Tuesday out of a few thousand people.
The past cannot be changed. It can be witnessed, and it can be told, and it turns out telling it takes more people than two.
Volume 5 of eight. Each one stands alone.
