In March 1964 in Bogotá, twin brothers Carlos and Nicolás Mendoza come into the world seven minutes and a world apart. Their father is a builder; their mother sings boleros while she cooks. The distance between them will take sixty years and a country's history to cross.
Carlos spends his life in the institutions of the state. Nicolás moves toward the circles where the M-19 recruits. Their break is a long drift, shaped by the M-19's return to democratic life, the 1991 Constitution and the peace process with the FARC.
Is reconciliation possible after decades of choosing the wrong side? The brothers work at it, fail, try again, and learn they can still function together.
