In a small town in Sucre, on Colombia's Caribbean coast, the families of eleven young men killed by the army and filed as false positives build Casa O11ce alongside the soldiers who helped murder their sons.
Three narrators follow the construction of this real project of radical coexistence as Colombia's transitional justice system delivers its first sentences. Margarita coordinates the work; Carmelo, a former soldier who has appeared before the JEP, carries blocks beside the mothers; Noraldo, whose brother was one of the eleven, chose to stay.
The novel asks what the framework can reach and what remains beyond it: what it means to build something on ground where something was destroyed.
